Zakat Provisions

Its Ruling

Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam and an obligatory act prescribed in the Quran, Sunnah, and by the consensus of the Muslim community. Allah Almighty said:
“And establish prayer and give zakat and obey the Messenger so that you may receive mercy.” (Surah An-Nur, Ayah 56)

It has been mentioned in the Holy Quran in 32 places, highlighting its importance. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“Islam is built upon five pillars: testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing prayer, giving zakat, performing Hajj (for those who can afford it), and fasting during Ramadan.” (Agreed upon - Sahih Hadith)

The Muslim community has unanimously agreed on the obligation of zakat, and it has become an essential and well-known duty in Islam.
